The number one thing I wish for my clients on their wedding day is that they can fully relax and enjoy the magic of the day to the max. Obviously things can go wrong no matter how well you plan and organize beforehand, but from where I stand that’s totally fine. At least you’ll have a funny story you can tell over and over again that will make people laugh, right?
Aside from this I am a huge proponent of getting as many stressors as possible out of the way before your big day. And if you haven’t stood in front of a camera before, the idea of doing a 60-minute portrait shooting might seem pretty stressful. Well… at least to me it does. 😉
A quick and easy engagement shoot is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for what it’s like to stay in front of a camera. You can let go of any nerves, while being in a relaxed atmosphere and without the time constraints and / or people watching you, as it often happens on a wedding day. Furthermore it’s a great way to get to know your photographer a little better and believe me, it is so much easier to be photographed by someone you know and trust. Another added benefit is that depending on how early you book the shoot you can easily use the engagement photos for save the date cards or invitations. You see, sooo many benefits. 😉
No seriously, chances are you will be pretty nervous as it is on your wedding day, so knowing what you are getting into with your portrait shoot beforehand, will give you an hour of calm during the whirlwind that is your wedding.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’d be happy to help in any way I can.
