Everybody needs a Happy Place… or two. Right? In my case, my Happy Place is definitely my garden at home. Even if it, like any other garden, has it’s unsightly and less well-kept corners (piles of junk behind the hut anyone?), and regularly gives me back pain because the weeds just always grow faster than the rest, I absolutely appreciate how lucky I am to have my own garden.
But what to do if one lives in a city apartment with only a balcony or no outdoor space at all? Quite simply, one uses the beautiful public gardens which there are plenty of in our region. A fantastic example is the Stiftsgarten in St. Florian. Depending on the season, the garden is planted, nurtured and cared for by the Stiftsgärtnerei Sandner. Not only does the lovely and colorful area with it’s comfortable wooden loungers and a view of the surrounding hills invite you to linger, but the clever hobby gardener can also pick up inspiration for their own flowerbeds at home (and pack all the necessary plants for them in the nursery next door ;)). Hier a little virtual walk through the flowers
